My friends at TD are telling me that tomorrow fix rate mortages will rise 35 basis points.

So if the current rate is: 3.5% it will go up to 3.85%.

Wayne's McNugget

Just a couple of things over the past few weeks:

 •  Bank of Canada decided this week to leave rates alone (as expected), July is the anticipated month to see a movement in Prime

 •  Fixed mortgage rates are holding steady right now, you can still get a 5 year fixed mortgage under 4%

•  The new mortgage rules go into effect in 2 weeks (March 18^th)

Toronto Real Estate Market Update- March 2011

“Continued improvement in the GTA economy, including growth in jobs and incomes and a 

declining unemployment rate, has kept the demand for ownership housing strong,” said 

Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) President Bill Johnston. 
 

February 2011 saw fewer homes sold than the record year we had in February 2010 but over 50% higher than 2009.  More importantly the average price for February is up more than 5% from a year ago to $454,423 from $431,509.

 

“Market conditions remain quite tight in the GTA.  There is enough competition between 

home buyers to promote continued price growth,” said Jason Mercer, TREB’s Senior 

Manager of Market Analysis.

 

What can we expect in the next few months?

 

I predict continued slow increase of price as Mortgage rules tighten and inventory increases heightening competition to sell.

 

If you are thinking of Selling in the next few months... I'd consider listing now before competition affects your homes ability to sell.  You can demand top dollars when you are the lone ranger.

REAL Nuggets - Not McNuggets

I've started a NEW Blog...  www.RealNuggets.ca

It's all about getting rid of the bullshit... and talking REAL, Real Estate.  The whole point of the blog is to provide "nuggets" of information which will help you, me, fellow Realtors, Buyers, Sellers, Investors of Canadian Real Estate.... especially the Toronto Real Estate.

People who know me-  like me, because they know they always get REAL answers, REAL information and NO nonsense.  If I don't know something... I'll tell you straight up.  But you'll know I'll be searching for the answers to educate myself!  Best way I know how to help my clients!

Anyways... over the coming months... I'll be talking about everything and anything that I see happening that needs "Full Disclosure".  Starting with best practices.  After all having taken the Broker course... I see a lot of room for improvement.  (Myself included).  I'll try to keep the blogs "SHORT".. hence I've called my blog REAL "NUGGETS".

REAL- Real Estate  Nuggets-  info you can depend on!     Not McDonalds Chicken Nuggets. :-)
